Anadigics of Warren, NJ, USA is shipping production volumes of its AWT6321 dual-band power amplifier (PA) for use in LG Electronics' new Voyager, a touch screen multimedia phone.
The Voyager offers an interactive 2.8-inch touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard, plus V CAST Mobile TV and full HTML Internet browsing. Other features include a music player, dual speakers for stereo sound, Bluetooth connectivity and a 2.0-mega pixel camera/camcorder.
"By utilizing our EV-DO HELP2 module in their latest multimedia handsets, LG has once again demonstrated their faith in the strength and quality of Anadigics' products and technology as well as our role as valued partner with key players in the wireless industry such as LG," said Dr Bami Bastani, president and CEO of Anadigics.
Through selectable bias modes, the AWT6321 achieves optimal efficiency across different output power levels, specifically at low- and mid-range power levels where the PA typically operates. Its built-in voltage regulator eliminates the need for external switches. The 3 mm x 5 mm x 1 mm surface mount package incorporates matching networks optimized for output power, efficiency and linearity in a 50 Ohm system. The AWT6321 is manufactured on an advanced InGaP HBT MMIC technology.
